Dianna's Story

Life I returned to San Bernardino in 2007. I am here to fix some matter that were lefted unattended. I am currently a stay at home mom working part time. I am also awaiting knee surgery. An injury that occurred while playing soccer. I would injury the other knee while wrestling with my son. Upon recovery I will return to the ambulance and the pursuit of my goals and dreams. Religion I am currently attending the Rock Church. A great place that has helped me in more ways than I could ever imagine. I have had to face the realities of life recently and they have aided in that. As well as God and Jesus. My faith is strong and continues everyday. Family I am in the single status. Have been for some time. In some ways it is bad but in others it has been a gift. I have learned so much about myself and learn more everyday. I have two teenage kids. My daughter is a Sophmore at San G. My son is in 8th grade at Serrano. School If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't because I wouldn't be the person that I am today. I like the person that I am now. Some people may not, but that is not important and nor are they. My time in Air Force JROTC and Marine Corps JROTC (that is when I lived in Texas for a 1-1/2 years) were my most memorable and fun. And hope to some day get in contact with everyone. College I attended San Bernardino Valley College while in high school. I then attended Crafton Hills College in 1997, while majoring in Fire Techn...Expand for more
ology. That is where I was certified as an EMT. In 2003 I began attending Miramar College in San Diego, where I am nearly done with my A.A. but have taken time off to pursue other matters. Workplace Currently out of work. But have been working on fixing my life. I have been working as an EMT ever since I moved to San Diego in 2001. It is a great job, but the pay isn't as nice as it should be. I love working with people. I am doing this as I work towards becoming a firefighter. It is a slow process, but one I have not given up on. Military I enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school, 1989. First I went to Paris Island, S.C. (where real Marines are made). Then to school at Camp Lejeune, N.C. to be an automotive mechanic. That is where I was to meet to my husband (now estranged). We were both than station in Okinawa, Japan but on different bases. He Camp Foster and I Camp Kinser. We married in 1991, and we have the Japanese marriage certificate to prove it. By then I was already pregnant with my daughter. I came back to the states and was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He had to stay longer due to Desert Storm/Shield. I stayed at Camp Pendleton until my enlistment was up, by then I had my son. In 1994 the marriage crumbled. So in January 1996 I went into the Marine Corps Reserves. I went back to Camp Lejeune, N.C. to learn how to rebuild engines and transmissions. I got out of the reserves in December 1996, my contract was up.
