Dianne's Story
Life
After leaving Aliquippa High, I went off to Pitt to major in Physical Therapy but ended up in the Nursing program. That was a wonderful thing, because I love nursing. I kept up my acting by joining Kuntu Repertory Theatre. That was my passion! Also at Pitt I joined Army ROTC. I was commissioned as an officer in 1979. Can you imagine me at boot camp? Hey, I did it! - and almost went for airborne training!
As for my love life: Curkey Pettis and I broke up after freshman year in college. Mike Jackson and I were together for 4 years, but never married. I did marry George Walker in 1986, but we divorced in 1988. Then Curt and I got back together and married in 1989. We have 2 children Christopher, now 21 and Nicole, now 19. After 14 years, Curt and I divorced in 2003.
I moved back to Aliquippa in 2011. I missed home! I'm active in church (health ministries), and in my network marketing businesses in addition to work as a Family Nurse Practitioner. To those who voted me Most Likely To Succeed - I haven't let you down. I'm enjoying my life now, but I do need to take a vacation!
School
My biggest crush? Everyone knows it was Timmy Jordan.
My most inspirational teacher? Has to be Mr. Karmayzn! I got to spend a little time with him two or three years ago, and we had a great time talking about old times. I caught that theater bug from him and it changed my life. I still act occasionally, but now I write and direct as well.
All of my fondest memories were connected to band and the stage.
College
I received my BS in Nursing from The University of Pittsburgh in 1981.
I got my MS in Nursing from Wright State University in 1996. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Workplace

Children's Hospital. I was there until I went on Active Duty for a year to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1984. After I got out of the Army, I atayed in the Maryland area and worked at National Institutes of Health and did home care nursing for children.
When I married George and moved to Atlanta, I continued to do home care nursing. After moving to Dayton, I worked in the children's hospital here in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, then went on the become the Continuity of Care Coordinator (Discharge Planner). After I finished my Master's and became a Nurse Practitioner, I worked in a pediatric office for 7 years, Children Services in Dayton for 5 years as a manager, then moved back to clinical work in the retail clinic field..
I do teaching, classes, and seminars in the community on various topics: weight management, health ministry, stress, and various health topics. I also have two nutrition and weight management-related businesses.
Military
I became an Army officer in 1979. I did mostly Reserve Duty. I did do 1 year of Active Duty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center 1984-1985. Then did a short 6 month tour in Atlanta. So, I'm a veteran! I got out in 1991 after Desert Storm. I had orders to report with the rest of my unit, but I had just had my son. He would have been 2 months old when I left, but we did a lot of praying. God answered, because a few weeks later, I got orders tranferring me to a transportation unit that did not get called up. I didn't want to chance getting orders again, so when they asked for volunteers to get out, I left after 12 years. They were over-strength in nurses and needed to have people resign. I know I had trained all those years just for the purpose of serving, but when I looked at my newborn, my priorities changed.
