Dick's Story
After graduating from QA in 1967, went to Shoreline CC and Western, dropped out of Western in 1971 and bought a tavern in Hoquiam, WA...traded the tavern for an apartment house on Capitol Hill in 1973, went to work at the Space Needle and did security for rock concerts... sold the apartment house 1n 1979, bought a house in Wedgwood and went to work for Brittania Sportwear...moved to Pebble Beach, CA in 1983 and developed real estate...started going to Al-Anon in 1984, then went back to school and became a substance abuse, codependency, and family counselor in 1987, did some youth prevention work, then managed DUI programs for Monterey County...moved back to Seattle in 1992, w...Expand for more
orked at treatment centers in Lynnwood and Des Moines and retired in 2007...lost my dad in 2000, my sister, Dorothy, in 2005 and my mom in 2006...had a couple (three) live-in relationships along the the way, but never got married and never had any children...still good friends with QA buddies Pugit Potter, Bill Glascock, Greg Hamper, Lane James, Marty Itter, Peter Salladay and Mark Skiple...I am a Gruncle and like to spend time with my niece Kristi, her husband Gary, my great nephew Ewen and my great niece June, play some golf, go to Mariner's games, attend AFG 12 Step meetings, read books and vacation in Hawaii, Mexico, Monterey, CA, and Phoenix, AZ..Lifes been good so far!
