Dolores's Story
Life - 2007
I attended Norview from the 2nd grade through graduation, always proud to be a Pilot!
I suffered through two 'failed' marriages, and I am happily single now with 4 grown daughters, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grands. Life goes on!!!
I lived in New Jersey and New York briefly - in the 60's, then back to Norfolk. I worked at Bank of America (and many of it's predecessors) for 26 years, in bank card technology. I retired this year in February to be able to stay home to take care of my Mom, who is suffering with Lewy Body Dementia (which is very similiar to Alzheimers - with all the classic Parkinson symptoms thrown in).
Our classmate Peggy Parsons and I remained best friends, and travel buddies, since school. In 2005 we had a wonderful trip - we drove to Nova Scotia, Canada. What a wonderful trip that was!!! Definitely the trip of a lifetime!! That is what I called the trip. I didn't realize at the time how prophetic that statement would turn out to be. Because, it was our last trip!
Unfortunately, Peggy passed away, 3 months ...Expand for more
later in November, after complications following a minor surgery for skin graph.
Peggy and I were planning to attend the reunion, but since she is not here I wouldn't be able to enjoy it myself, as we usually got a room for the week-end and had such a good time!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful time at the reunion, and hopefully I will be able to attend the 50th!
**2010
I love to relax by watching a good movie. A 'good movie' to me is either a Comedy (really hilarious one), family oriented movie with a good moral tone, or an exciting adventure movie.
I am currently in the process of getting set up to go back to work at the bank. It will be full time work, and I know it will be difficult getting back in the swing of working day in and day out - 5 days a week! It has been at least 5 years since I worked full time; but I love the challenge of my job in technology!
**2015
I did go back to work, and hung in there til Dec. 2013. Then I retired again, and I expect this one to take. Though, I'd sure enjoy a semi-monthly paycheck again!! LOL
