Dolores Krause:  

Dolores Jupko was born and raised in downtown Allentown and then spent my teen years living near Southside Park. I had an early interest in Chemistry so i enrolled in a new program being offered by the Allen HS. I loved the classes and completed the post-graduate program for Chemistry,(later to be LCCC). Stepping out into big business research was a shock, because although i passed all the pretests for Air Products and Bethlehem Steel research, i was turned down because they were not hiring women.Within a few months i was the first woman to be hired into the research labs at Air Products and Chemicals. Later, I was married to RIchard Krause and we were blessed with 2 beautiful girls who have grown into well accomplished women and have given us 5 wonderful grandchildren, which as you all know can be the joy of your life. I was home a few years but when i found myself single i returned to apci and i have worked there a total of 38 years and now happily retired.
