Lynette's Story
For some reason, I deleted my "old" story, so here is my new one. . . I attended the JC and Sonoma State straight out of high school, got a teacher's credential, and taught Seventh Grade English and history, mostly at Creekside Middle School in Rohnert Park for thirty or so years. In 1984, I married Sandy Kronick, who was also in the credential program, and our two sons, Zak and Nik, are now in their twenties. We moved to Wikiup in 1986, and I lived there until recently.
In 2012, Sandy and I both retired from teaching. Unfortunately, Sandy's retirement was short-lived, as he died of a heart attack while playing tennis after one week of retirement, on my last day of teaching. To say that my life changed drastically is an understatement. One of the changes was buying some property off of Riebli Road, which burned down in 2017.
I still love The Beatles and my dachshund dogs. I lost Toby Lee in 2018, and my newest doxie is a red miniature longhair named Maxi, which is short for Maxwell's Silver Hammer. He is in my profile picture.
My profile picture was taken in front of my not-yet-completed home on Christmas of 2019, It took three years to rebuild after the Tubbs Fire in October of 2017 because of a myriad of delays, including an unscrupulous original contractor, who did absolutely nothing during the first year. He is now being charged with numerous counts of fraud, including "elder abuse", but I doubt if any of his victims will see any money returned.

remely slow and somewhat difficult, which wasn't helped by the Corona Virus, but at least the house is finally finished.
What else? I love to travel, which has also been postponed indefinitely by the Corona virus, and I especially have enjoyed several music-themed cruises, featuring bands of the 60s, (or what is left of the original members) and the 70s. The 60s Cruise is called Flower Power and the 70s cruise is Rock and Romance. Groups on these cruises have included Herman's Hermits, The Hollies, Three Dog Night, The Guess Who, The Grass Roots, Foreigner, Grand Funk Railroad, Bozz Scaggs, and others that I probably forgot to mention. I also enjoyed the cruise through the Panama Canal, and my 25th Anniversary cruise of the Mediterranean Sea, including Egypt, where I rode a camel and saw the pyramids.
I finally crossed the last of the 50 states off of my list, and I have really enjoyed exploring our own beautiful country. I especially enjoyed traveling back East with my son Nik after he graduated from college in 2014 because I was able to see the leaves turn in the fall, and I had never been able to travel during that time of the year when teaching. Now, I imagine that I will be staying home during most Octobers to guard against fires and P G and E shut-offs, which have become yearly occurrences.
Well, it's been a long and winding road since high school, and somewhat of an incredible journey, but as John Lennon said, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans."
