Valerie's Story
Life
Well I recently shared with the entire world of web about my work and what was needed for the troubled youth in today's society. I recently got discharged from my job for placing a picture of the youth and myself in front of a Fire Engine thanking the program. I don't believe I did anything wrong but according to the books I jepordized the program funding. Now I had all these youth who depended on me for their accomplishments not no more, it hurts and it sucks
School
My biggest crush in El Sereno Jr. High was a boy I went to Kindergarten with, he attended El Sereno I couldn't take my eyes off of him for the entire 7th grade, especially his long hair. My counselor( C )in 1977 always gave me a chance and never called my mother after me I was lucky he passed me. I wasn't bad just mischevious. If I can go back to the 1980's and know what I know today I would look at things alot different and make a huge...Expand for more
differencce. The most embarressing thing i ever done was act tough by climbing a tall fence, flipping over and falling to my knees if front of my friends everyone was laughing then. Another time was ditching El Sereno School with a boy, riding bikes we rode down a hill he rode the bike with no hands, I tried it and fell over cracking my front tooth. I can go on but I'll save for conversation.
Workplace
Working with at risk youth has been a challenge in decision making. As you see in the picture the outcome, my youth walk in the office with conditions of probation and change to make a difference in our communities. I am a Case Manager who works with troubled teens and my goal in life is to become a probation officer. If I can make a difference with 1 out 5 then I can succeed in my goals today. It hasn't been easy my job, but by leaving your work at work and going home with no bagage anything's possible.
