Life Ihave had a very interesting life. I graduated from Law School in 1963, with honors. I entered into the practice of the Law in Lufin, Texas. After 2 years, I opened my own office in my home town of Jasper, Texas. In 1968 I was elected to the Texas House of Representives from Jasper, Newton, Hardin and Tyler Counties. I served in the House of Representives for 4 years. The then sitting Senator ran for Congress and I ran for his Senate seate. I was elected in 1972 from a districe which was roughly fron IH 10 to IH 20 and the Sabine River to the Brazos River. I served in the Senate for 6 years when I was appointed the General Counsel to the Governor of Texas. After I left that office, I served as Chair or Vice Chair of severl State Agences.
