Don's Story
Life
Short bio, okay here goes. After high school I attended LBCC with the goal of becoming a fireman, I took a full set of classes and was enjoying school. Two classes I attended just for fun were Machine Shop and Welding Science. My instructor in the welding class noticed some talent and he suggested that I apply at Todd Shipyards for a summer income. That changed my life as I landed the job and was quickly promoted. I liked working there, and at the time the pay was excellent. Some how I kept going up in the company and a summer job turned into 12 years. While working at Todds I learned Robotics and how to Manage people. After Todds went B.K. I continued to improve my career and have been employed as a Plant Manager, General Manager, & Director for 3 separate world class manufactures in the automotive industry.
The fun stuff, the disco years,Â
um better not talk about thatÂ

lets just say dancing was really fun back then, surfed everywhere, raced motocross for two solid years in the late 70Âs, learned how to snowboard, and wakeboard, even though IÂm now really old I still want to play all the time. We go to the beach, to river and to the...Expand for more
snow. Staying at home is not something we do all that much. Work hard and play harder has been the way we live.
I got married "78" to my wife Vickie after five years of disco dancing and heavy partying. We got started right away on our family, we now have three grown up daughters 22, 24, 28 and as of last month we have four grand children (1) boy (3) girls. Our life is good, we now own two houses, one in Mission Viejo Ca, and the other at the river, in Parker Az. We travel out to the river house almost every weekend. We keep the toys out there, including a 25 foot Nordic power boat, SeadooÂs, quads, dirt bikes and a Sandrail. IÂm still surfing every chance I get but my life revolves around my ever growing family.
I have to say that the years living in Naples were some of the best times of my life. I would love to hear from all my Junior High and Elementary school friends. Tim Deeds, Kevin and Kelly Merrill, Dave Tish, Jim Bateman, Jim Turner, Roy Wells, Brian Bowlby, Wally Knocks, Jeff ParisÂ
and all the rest I miss you guys. Where are all my Cub Scout buddies???? Remember my dad was our scout masterÂ
