Don's Story
Well it's a catch up job here , after I graduated from Finney in 64 I took courses in electronics. Went to J.L.Hudson co. Was a bus boy they a soda Jerk , my wife says just plain jerk, then into camera sales for six years then Quit to work at RossRoy Advertising in the Photo dept developing and printing , Then to Ford Motor co. for 33 years in communications dept where I did many different types of work from ajudio recording to public address to video installation and repair. Now I am retired and enjoying my grand kids and Ham radio. I am probably remembered as the Radio nut and the one who carries a brief case with slide rule inside. I was born in Detroit Mi. and lived there till 54 when my dad retired and we sold some property an moved up to Greenbush Mi. till...Expand for more
dad got tired of the heavy snow and we moved to Largo Fla. In 56 and After my dad passed away the family moved up to Calrisle Ma., Where I enjoyed the view of Walden pond and the walks into the stone fenced rolling hills in the middle of winter. Then believe it or not back to Largo Fla. Where I hiked through vine draped woods and feasted on the flora, especially when the night blooming Jasmine and orange blossoms battled for dominence of the breezes. I received my first ham radio call letters in 1960 and have been active ever since. My brother tried to get me to take up flying and took a few lessons, enjoyed it but couldn't afford to continue on my bus boy salary..Then when I had a good income I didn't have the time to spare.oh well thats life or at least mine.
