Don's Story

I live in Surrey, worked as lettercarrier for Canada Post and retired at age 55.I have never married but still wonder if someone exists who was made for me.I was always quiet and shy so you may not remember me even though I will probably remember you.I hung around with the 3 Bobs,,,Bob Chitrenky,Bob Crews and Bob Cook.Bob Chitrenky was my best friend but I probably wasn't as high on his list although I know I was on it.I was always too scared, too shy....to go to any dances...to ask any girls out....and so that end of my friendships suffered since I had nothing to share in that part of life.I went to SFU(still have the textbooks to prove it) but didn't finish since I already had a job to go to and my ambitions weren't in the money making area.I worked and joined in with activities that came from work....when I became more comfortable with the social part of going to work....I became entertainment for my fellow workers and sang songs told stories and led the way in the harmless jokes and gags that we used to make work a happier and easier place to go to each day.Past that though I always gave up too easily on finding someone to spend my life with and have a...Expand for more
family.I just got myself farther behind in persuing the most rewarding joys in life and so here I am .I hid from life and I guess that i hid so well that I wasn't available to be found for the reunion that our class had in 2007.I know that I would have enjoyed it so much...I would have enjoyed seeing the folks I went to school with because I enjoy it so much now when I have found people on facebook that went to Windermere.I especially enjoy the friendship that I have with Linda Scott(Macnicol).I remembered her and she remembered me(not often the case for the quiet guy that didn't say much)Her life has been so full with family and the ups and downs of living each day with vigor.Still we grew up in a neighbourhood on a hill that seems so far away now,but somehow remains rooted in the beings that we are.The passing of all those years is insignificant in how well we know each other because we share a place in time and it is a bond that ties us forever.I know there are others of you who feel the same and I welcome your memories and your friendship.I haven't done anything on here for a while...Linda Macnicol Scott and I are common law partners for 2 years now.
