Don's Story
Drafted in 1966. Vietnam 1969 - 1970. (Currently Fighting Agent Orange Issues).
Married Alhambra HS Sweetheart in 1967. She left us in 1978 (met someone else).
Single Parent from 1978 to 1991 of two daughters and one son.. (A tuff gig).
Got them through college by 1995. I received my Undergrad in 1995 and MBA in 1998 from ASU
.
Played soccer from 1978 to 2011 (Till I was 65 -Knee injury). Coached youth soccer Yuma & Mesa for 13 years.
September 13th, 2001...I was asked by an old disaster recovery colleague to help out at Ground Zero. (We had trained together in Philadelphia 4 weeks a year from 1991 to 1995).
Took a team of 8 to Manhattan to help restore telecommunications (See article a...Expand for more
ttached in photos). We had the rescue workers up on Sept 17th and Wall Street up on Sept 18th, 2001.
Remarried in 1999 to a single parent of two girls and a boy. We had the "Brady Bunch", ha.
Wife has 5 grandchildren, and I have 7.. We live in Chandler on a lake front property and have a 10 passenger pontoon boat for fun times.
Still working at 77 as a development consultant to local Indian Tribes.
Agent Orange complications since 2008. 2 heart attacks, 3 strokes. 6 surgeries, but doing well for now. VA finally owned up to it in 2018. Passed it on to two of my kids that were born after I returned. Lost my youngest daughter in 2018 to a heart attack. Son currently fighting DVTs. So sad.
