Don's Story

I have 2 sons and five grandchildren (4 living and 1 deceased). I worked as a structural draftsman for 30 years, 12 years in structural steel then 18 years in precast/prestressed concrete. I raced Midgets on the dirt tracks around Ariz. and Calif. for a number of years before breaking my neck and back in a crash at Manzanita Speedway in 1982. na Midget Racing Association for 5 years. I wrote a book on Auto Racing history that was published in 2011 and am working on a second book at present. I left Phoenix 7 years ago and have no plans of ever moving back - too many people now. The racing photo posted was shot on the half mile at Manzanita Speedway in April of 1982 and is the car I broke my neck and back in four months later.
