Don's Story
I retired from the University of Illinois in 2008 and I am now an Emeritus Professor of Plant Pathology. I thoroughly enjoyed the years I spent at the University of Illinois where I taught classes In Introductory Plant Pathology, Diseases of Field Crops, and diseases of Ornamentals and Turf Grasses. I also had an extensive research career on corn diseases and genetics of resistance. I have been married to Sharon Eastwood ever since graduating from Marshall University and thoroughly enjoy her company. We have two children and three grandchildren and am spending some time playing with the grandchildren. I had been returning to South Charleston until 2008 to take care of my father who lived in the house where I grew up. After he passed away I have not had a chance to go back. I hope to have time to go back and fish in the Greenbrier River. Retirement gives me a lot of time for gardening, hunting and fishing. So I am not bored.
