Donald's Story
Life
I live in Rachel, just over the hill from the old high school North Marion. Just follow the rideaway beyond the football field and you can't miss the big white house.
I am married to a fellow 1990 graduate, Stacy Martin. We have two wonderful children Chelsea and Ethan.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we went to Las Vegas. We lost all of our gambling money, $50. But we did win $5. We visited the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, of course.
School
I enjoyed most of my high school year. I remember the good and the bad. I really enjoyed my drama class. Even though a few guys made it hard for some of us we had a great time once they were gone.
My most memorable line was probably "The bas****that grabbed the kids candy. Go get him." I said this line in front of the entire school it was great. I also got to say it twice.
I enjoyed english with Mrs Peters. She seemed very sophisticated and professional. She conviced me I should take advanced English because of my scores in her class my junior year. She was right. I loved English IV but I can't remember my teacher's name.
I didn't care for geometry with Mr Mason. The class consisted mostly of freshman and sophomores and that is how he tought the class, like he was teaching a bunch of kids. The class only had one two seniors and one junior.
I won't report my biggest crush because I don't want to get into trouble with my wife.
Rember the walk out because of the water our freshman year? I didn't walk out but I did know some that did, including my wife. She was seen by her parents on the evening news.
I always enjoyed going to football games. I was delighted when North got their own field. I remember the first touchdown. I think it was a pass from quaterback Terry Gower to somebody. I guess I only rember the actions but not the names. Don't forget...Expand for more
the big fight with Lincoln.
Many more memories. If anybody would like to talk about them e-mail me.
College
My college days were long at Fairmont State College.
I only had a few night classes but the day classes were just as long. Besides accounting, psychology, and geography, I also had the strength to handle trig, calc, and computer programming.
After long hours in the computer lab, sometimes not leaving until 5:00pm, I finally got my Computer Science Degree in 1995.
Workplace
After graduating, my first job was at Pizza Man as a delivery boy. The worst job in the world. I got fired after one month. That was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I started working for Wesbanco Bank less than five days later. I started out as a teller and then got a job in the loan department as a clerk. I worked there for about 18 months before getting an interview with the FBI.
I was hired during the mass hire in 1997. They hired a few hundred employees that year. About seven came from WesBanco the same time I was hired.
I have been working at the FBI for ten years. I began as a clerk before applying for a computer assistant position. I worked that position for nine months before applying for my current position in 2000. My title is computer specialist but my job description is much like an system administrator.
I love my job even though it is midnight shift. I have consolidated my shift work into my personal life. I put my daughter to bed everynight before going to work and get home in time to drop her off at school.
Military
I have never been in the military but I know many men who are in or have been in the military. I have known some that have lost there lives while doing their job in the military. I feel sadness for those who have lost members of their families due to the current military actions.
