Donald's Story
After graduation I worked at Harding Military Academy as a PE Supervisor while attending Citrus. After 3 semesters of indecision, I enlisted in the USMC with an aviation guarantee. After electronics training I was stationed at the helicopter base in Santa Ana (blimp hangars). Deployed to RVN and returned in 1967 marrying Paula Fadely (Glendora '66) and off to Memphis to teach electronics. Daughter Lisa Marie born there two weeks before Elvis' daughter). Transferred back to RVN '69 & '70 then to Memphis again to attend advanced electronics training. Back to Santa Ana to again teach electronics then selected for Warrant Officer. VA and transferred to F-4 Phantom air group at MCAS El Toro. Divorced in 1978 and transferred aboard USS Coral Sea, participated in hostage rescue attempt 1979 while in the Indian Ocean. Returned to states and transferred to NAS Point Mugu, CA. Met and married Marny (Anaheim '64). Promoted to Captain and transferred to MCAS Yuma, AZ. Retired in 1987 and worked for various aerospace companies supporting the Marine Corps only adversary squadron. Left in 2003 to open our own company providing secure document destruction (shredding) to businesses throughout the county. Business failed in 2003, I went to work for another aerospace company in Yuma providing range operations and maintenance support as a Quality Assurance and Safety, Health and Environmental Lead.
