Donald's Story
After graduation, I goofed off for a year while working at GM in Framingham and a tire company, then entered the US Air Force, where I was assigned to Aircraft Crash and Rescue Firefighting. After the service, I got my Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Boston University (thanks to the Gi Bill). I also married Mary Sullivan of Duxbury while I was in school. We've been together, and enjoying our time with each other, ever since. After college I got a job as a research assistant at the Harvard Medical School Immunology Laboratory's Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and later at the Harvard-Thorndike Labs at Beth Israel Hospital. I went to Medical School at the New York M...Expand for more
edical College and graduated with my M.D. in 1988. I then did two years of Surgery Residency there at NYMC, and transferred to do an Anesthesia Residency at the Harvard Dept of Anesthesia at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. After that, i worked for a Boston Anesthesia Group that did private practice and academic practice based in several Boston Hospitals (NE Deaconess, Beth Israel Deaconess, Faulkner and NE Baptist Hospitals mostly). I became the Vice Chairman of Anesthesia at Boston's NE Baptist Hospital until retirement. I've had a lot of fun through all of this, and as we wind on down the road, Mary and I are keeping it that way. I hope you all have too!
