Donald Fred's Story
After living near Lansing, MI for 38 years I recently moved to the country or basically the middle of no where. My house is 1,000 ft off the main road and nearly in the middle of 72 acres. The nearest village has one 4 way stop, three churches, two bars and a hardware store. The closest grocery is 15 miles. You would think we were in the UP but we are between Lansing, Ionia, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, and Charlotte.
Donna and I spend time working on the property in an effort to improve the looks as well as make as many deer happy as I can, especially those with large antlers. Whenever I can, I sneak off for a round of golf. We are close enough to our kids that we still get to watch the grandc...Expand for more
hildren every so often. We have 3 boys with two of them married. The oldest has a daughter and a son. The youngest has one stepdaughter, and two daughters. The middle one came close to marriage once, but is currently still single.
In the winter we pack up our motorhome, head to AZ for warmth, to visit with friends from Canada and all over the US, explore the southwest, and golf about three times a week. We were doing a lot of traveling, but the death of my parents, poor health with Donna's parents and our building a new house slowed that up considerable. Hopefully we will be loading up the motorhome in 2010 to begin exploring again. We have two State and 2 Canadian Provinces left to visit.
