Donald's Story
Lets see, where to begin.
After I left Central College I taught for a couple of years and decided that I hated kids. Sooooo, I went into the family business and for the next 32 years I was a police officer for the City of Davenport.
I worked every place one could work in the PD, but I specialized in investigating child abuse/sex crime cases where I did my best work. I obtained the rank of Lieutenant by the time I retired in Sept '07. I have to tell you, straight up, retirement is a very, very good thing!!! :-)
I am now employed as a Assistant Professor in the CJ Department at Black Hawk College in Moline and have been given program director responsibilities. It's a great retirement job which allows me to give something back to the profession that had been very good to me and m...Expand for more
y family for over 50 years.
I have one child, a 24 year old daughter, which I pretty much raised as a single parent. She is a great kid, was married in February of 2013, and is off living her life. So, the bank of dad is closed.
I recently bought and am rehabbing a 125 year old house in Geneseo, llinois. It is a lot of work, but I am enjoying doing something I never thought I would do.
I have lots of little hobbies, but am obsessed with none of them. I just do them long enough to stay busy so I don't become permanently entombed in the recliner. I spend most of my free time trying to keep the weight down doing long walks with Sherman the wonder dog, doing long rides on my bike, taking little weekend trips to places that interest me, etc...
All in all it's a pretty good life.
