Donald Gridley:  

I graduated from Hilltop High School in June 1965. I went to Southwestern College for one year and then enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967. I was in the Marine Corps for 3 1/2 Years. I spent 1969 in Vietnam. I was a Helicopter Mechanic & Crew Chief and flew 82 Combat Missions. I had a few close calls, but never got hurt. I came home in 1970 and went back to Southwestern College, on the GI Bill, getting my AA Degree in 1971, and then transferring to Humboldt State University. I graduated in June of 1973 with a BA in Psychology and then finished my Teaching Credential in June 1974. I was in a Master Program for one semester, but my GI Bill money ran out and I didn't finish it. I got a Job with LA County Department of Children and Family Services as a Children's Social Worker in 1976 this started a 35 year career.
