Donald's Story
Workplace
The summer before my senior year I quit my ÂJob at Der Wienerschnitzell and went up to visit Mr. Duncan (Ontario High School Metal & Wood Shop teacher) at his small machine shop in Upland. (He had invited me to come by and see his shop at the end of school). He gave me a job and I worked for him after school through my senior year. After graduating, he and I became business partners manufacturing aircraft parts and prototype models. The following year we were making enough money to allow him to quit teaching High School. In 1982 we split up the company and I started my own manufacturing company (MaloneÂ...Expand for more
s CNC Machining). Mr. Duncan and I stayed working together in the same building operating separate companies until 1990, when Mr. Duncan moved to Montana and shortly thereafter I moved to northeast Oklahoma where I am today. My plan was to build a shop on my property and semi-retire, just doing a few good repeat government contracts. But I just canÂt say no to a good challenge. So currently I have 28 employees and over 280 government and Boeing contracts. As for Mr. Duncan, My son Patrick and I flew our plane up to Montana to visit him last summer. We talk at least every few weeks. He is like a second father to me.
