Donald's Story
I have 17 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, beginning in 1991 with Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated as a compliance assistant, as well as holding various sales, administrative and regulatory compliance roles with FIMCO Securities Group, Inc., First Securities Group, and The Equitable Life Assurance Company/Conover Agency. I also served as Assistant Director, Compliance with Northwestern Mutual Investment Services, LLC, and Sr. Field Consultant, Training for Northwestern Mutual Life. In 1999 I served as chairperson of Northwestern's fall community giving campaign, raising $1.8 million for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
In January, 2002, I transferred to Washington, D.C. to become Director of New Agent Development and Training and Agency Compliance Supervisor for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network/The Washington Group in McLean, Virginia. After leaving MassMutual/Capital Financial Partners, Vienna, Virginia, in 2006 as Brokerage Director and Agency Supervisory Officer, I formed National Capital Financial Brokerage, LLC, a charitable gift ...Expand for more
and estate planning design firm. In addition to being life and health licensed in the State of Virginia and other states, I hold my NASD Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 registrations and served on the board of directors for the United Way of the National Capital Area; Turning the Page, a D.C.-based literacy program which works with disadvantaged D.C. school children; and the Legal Counsel for the Elderly of AARP, which funds legal assistance programs for seniors in the District of Columbia. I also served on the National Planned Giving Council for United Way of America as well as the inaugural chairperson of the AARP Foundation Young Leaders' Circle. I am currently the Treasurer for the Hobart C. Jackson Emerging Leaders Group for the National Caucus and Center on Black Aged, Inc. located in Washington, D.C.
In addition to attending Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., I enjoy golf, the many bike trails in and throughout the D.C. region up into the Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachian Trail, hanging out at the Pour House and Hawk N Dove bars on Capital Hill and my four huge sons.
