Donald's Story
I've had a great life since 1968. I spent only 1 year at Robert Morris College Carthage IL and then went to work as an electrical control specialist for Nabisco, Union Carbide, and then Republic Steel. I then transitioned to regional technical sales and became national sales training specialist for a division of General Electric. I closed out my career selling for a small manufacturer's representative.
Barbara Pepalis (Evergreen Park CHS '66) and I met at "The Willow Tree" in Burbank IL. (remember singles bars?) in late 1971. We married in 1973. We had 5 children between 1975 and 1987. I lost her to a rare cancer in early 2005. She was my wife for 32 years.
I found being alone after 32 years of marriage to be a terrible existence. So I signed up for eHarmony. I was introduced to Patricia Simms and 14 months later we...Expand for more
married. We have continued for 17+ years now. We have 8 adult age children between us and are also sharing 13 grand children. There are many challenges, balancing our time and resources.
I've enjoyed many hobbies, SCUBA, aviation, stock car racing and lots of home remodeling. My current (30 yrs) hobby is archery. I shoot for recreation, competition, and bow hunting. I have been teaching archery skills to kids in club programs, and Cub/Boy Scout classes. I also bow hunt big game, IE deer. In the Fall, I am out as much as possible, seeking to fill the freezer with venison.
I have been active in my church teaching a class for those newly in relationship to Jesus Christ. My wife and I are each active our church.
Hope you're doing better than well! I really enjoy being in touch, so don't hesitate to write.
