Vernon's Story
This is Vernon Torrence (first name Donald but always went by middle name as dad's was same). I attended San Carlos High until our family moved to Portola Valley in the middle of my junior year and transferred to Woodside High graduating in 77. I've reached out through Classmates as I don't have a Facebook account and the majority of my friends and memories were at San Carlos High and city. My folks owned and I worked at the Pepper Tree market on Laurel St. and I knew many families through the market...Expand for more
. After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in Aerospace Engineering, I joined the Marines as an officer and combat helicopter pilot. For the last 19 years I've worked as a manager and engineer at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo, CA and live in Yorba Linda (about 1/2 Hr from Disneyland). I hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy in these trying times and look forward to getting in touch again with old friends! Yes, I did finish and launched my submarine in the Bay in 1983.
