Donita's Story
After high school I came to Atlanta; attended Dental Assistant College.
Met my future husband a senior at Ga Tech. We married in Dec 1970. After our tour with Uncle Sam in Korea, we came back to Atlanta, I worked for a dentist and my husband began is career as a Civil Engineer with the State of Georgia D.O.T. We started our family in 1975 and had 4 wonderful children. I retired from the dental office to stay home with the children. The joy of our lives has been our family. We watched each child grow and they all graduated from college. In 2004 Percy retired, and we have enjoyed traveling in our RV.
Our first trip was to Alaska for 3 months..it was a dream trip. In 2008 we spent the winter traveling through the Copper Canyon ...Expand for more
and the Baja. We will continue to travel around the USA. Then in 2009 we toured the month of May around Europe...traveling on Euro Rail visiting London, Paris, Rome, Switzerland, Munich and Berlin.
I enjoy sewing and doing embroidery for my grandchildren. Not sure where 2010 will take us.
Our daughter and family just moved to Daytona, so we will be making lots of trips back. Daytona sure has grown and changed. Especially our high school...wow!
I took the opportunity last fall to locate and "thank" from the bottom of my heart 2 people from Mainland Senior High that had a memorable, important and meaningfully influence on my life. These two ladies are Mrs. Anne Piggotte and Nan Courtney. It was wonderful to talk to each one.
