Donn's Story
After High School I went to college(never finished) and then got married. I joined the Army Nat'l Guard and was a track vehicle mechanic from 1970 to 1976. At the same time I worked for NJ Bell.
After I got out of the guard I joined the Air Force Reserve as a loadmaster on the C-141 aircraft. I then flew to 16 different countries on missions, mostly to Europe. I then switched to the 35 Aerial Port Squadron while going thru a divorce. I then got to spend 2 weeks overseas instead of the 24 or 36 hours I did when I flew. Except for Athens Greece which was always 72 Hours.

arried in 1997 to my current wife. We have 4 kids between us and 7 Grandkids and 5 Great Grandchildren.
My wife was active duty Air Force until 2001. We then got her a job as Civil Service doing the same job she did on active duty. Her first job was at Rhein Main Air Base in Frankfurt Germany, so we lived there for 2 years before coming to Pope Air Force base in North Carolina where we are today.
I retired from the Air Force reserve in 1999 and from Bell Tel (now Verizon) in 2000. I now work part time cleaning commercial aircraft when the mood hits at Pope Army airfield.
