Donna's Story
AFTER LIVING IN SEVERAL STATES AND GERMANY, MICHAEL AND I SETTLED IN CENTRAL TEXAS ALMOST 16 YEARS AGO. I WAS A STAY AT HOME MOM MANY OF THE YEARS THAT OUR GIRLS WERE GROWING UP, DID A LOT OF VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE YOUTH GROUPS, I EVEN MANAGED TO HOME SCHOOL THE YOUNGEST THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. AFTER THE YOUNGEST DAUGHTER GRADUATED, I WENT BACK TO WORK AND AM LOVING EVERY(ALMOST) MOMENT OF IT. I AM LEARNING TO PLAY GOLF ( A GAME THAT I SWORE I WOULD NEVER PARTICIPATE IN!) WE HAVE WAY TOO MANY PETS, INCLUDING 4 VERY SPOILED POODLES; I SUPPOSE I STILL HAVE THE MATERNAL NEED TO BABY SOMETHING.
June 2011 update:
Life keeps moving forward for the Stewart family. Over the past few years we have had children moving in and out of the house. One marriage last fall, one marriage this month and one more in July. Our youngest and her husband are now living in Okinawa and enjoying the Chair Force...uh, Air Force life. Number one child is liv...Expand for more
ing in Missouri (or Misery if you prefer,) and number two is still teaching here in Texas.
We have added RVing and boating to our prefered methods of relaxation, unfortunately we haven't been able to travel far from home. Thankfuly we have Blora recreation center (Lake Belton) only 30 miles from home for our 'get out of town weekends'.
July 2011 update:
The past month has been in extreme high gear as our family has 5 new memebers. 2 son-in-laws Mike and Steve, and our 3 awesome grandsons ,Ryan, Justin, and Sammy. As thrilled as we are with all of the wonderful changes in our lives, we are also thankful to have the 'events' behind us and are ready to slow down a little.
I HAVE LEARNED :
THE TIME WE HAD AT HERLONG HIGH (PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR MANY OF US) WAS A SPECIAL TIME AND PLACE, THAT I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO LAUGH LONG AND LOUD.
IT'S FAR MORE FUN TO LAUGH AT MYSELF THAN AT OTHERS.
