Donna's Story

Here's a little bit about myself and what I've been up too. I still live in BC but in Coquitlam again, since 1990. I got married to a wonderful man in 1996, we have no kids and 4 cats. I have my own in home accounting business and my husband owns his family Industrial Valve Business. I also do web design, graphics, work on computers doing software and music on the side. Back in 92/93 when I was 27 I got really sick and almost died in the hospital from a heart condition but I've made an amazing recovery. Life is just too damn short so enjoy every moment as if it was your last and appreciate the little things. I started a book about my experience and also a children's book about my niece/nephew and my 4 cats. My nephew is 4 and my niece is 2 yrs old now. Wow, time sure flies eh lol. It feels like just yesterday I was holding my sister as a baby in my arms now I'm holding her babies in my arms. After I finished school in 1982 I took the next few years off to figure out what kind of a profession I wanted to have and I also did a lot of partying and hanging out with friends. From 1983 to 1992 I worked various jobs from a waitress to a classified advertiser. 1995 I went to college where I took Micro Computer Business Applications, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Calculus and graphic software. Recently (2007/08)my husband and I finished building a new cedar fence around our property, landscaped both yards, put up a 2'stone wall around the flowerbeds,...Expand for more
installed a jacuzzi, built a big cedar shed for the John Deer, tools and gardening equipment. We also built two ceder decks. One is around the tub and the 2nd one is around one of the tall fir trees at the back of our backyard. Next we want to add a flat screen TV for the jacuzzi so we can watch hockey, football games and car racing. With weather permitting, we would hang it up onto the side of the shed. Soon we will be starting renovations on the inside of our house. Work is going great and it's not getting too crazy...yet but when March 1st rolls around it will be. I had a total blast at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and enjoyed the events we saw immensely. We saw speed skating, mens & womens hockey and curling. We also had tickets to a Victory Ceremony in BC Place to see Trooper & Loverboy. The fireworks were spectacular and partying down on Robson was a lot of fun. Seeing the torch & rings up close was phenomenal. Congrats to all our Canadian athletes, especially the BCer's and on winning 14 GOLD medals, which was the most in Olympic history! I sure miss those times in high school but such is life eh, we all gotta get older, responsible and hopefully a lot more wiser lol. I know I sure have not to mention a lot more healthier. But the great memories will forever be with me. I had a blast in high school and it would be great to hook up with some of those good friends of mine. Please do drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you!
