Donna's Story
Life
Hey ya'll as they say here in the South. I swore when I moved down here I'd never say fixin less I was fixin the car. When I first got here, I couldn't understand what people were saying their accents were so strong. It's a whole new world down here in more ways than one.
If you're evre outthis way - look me up.
About 5 years ago I married Paul Mellion. Neither of us had ever been married and we have no children. I do have a 4-year-old God daughter whom I absolutely adore.
I have a lot of hobbies: dancing, ( started taking ballet when I turned 50) reading, sewing, gardening, painting and starting my own company. Yay!
Life is good. I'm happy and having fun.
Workplace
I'm a writer and always knew I would be. Turns out I write what I fondly refer to as "corporate crap" but I find it interesting and it pays the bills.
After Newark High. I got lost for a number of years.- about 20. 8 or 10 of which I spent in college. Always was a quick learn...Expand for more
er.
I worked as a waitress the entire time I was in school until I landed a job at KPIX (This was when Wendy Tokuda was anchor - early 80s) and then at KTVU.
I moved around in televison for about 13 years in California and Oregon and finally ended up in Jacksonville, Florida, where I now live.
In 1993 I started a corporate communications department at a trucking company eventually becoming vice president of corporate communications of a $3.5 billion logistics company - who knew?
In 2005 I resigned from the big job and took a much lesser job at a not-for-profit drug and alcohol rehab agency - does anyone else see the irony here? The money isn't as good, but my life is much less stressful.
I started a company called Segue Communications and provide complete advertising and marketing services to small and mid sized business. So let me know if you need a brochure, video, annual report, etc. I'm always on the lookout for new clients.
