Donna's Story

Life My dad was in the Air Force, got transferred to San Antonio, which is why we had to leave Oklahoma and my first high school Carl Albert in the middle of my junior year. In San Antonio I attended Luther Burbank High. My senior year was ok - Burbank started a swim team that year and I joined - it was fun and I actually lettered in Swim Team and got a letterman's jacket! After graduation, I went to UTSA for a semester, wished I'd have attended longer - but I was 'advised' by a counselor to change my majors - I wanted to be a math teacher, she suggested being a CPA - I guess I just got discouraged and quit. I moved from San Antonio to Richmond/Rosenberg in the 80's. I started out my work career as a secretary at WKM in Stafford, TX. Then went to work for a lady in Sugar Land, TX as a secretary and she (Mrs. Hogan) saw in me potential to be more than a secretary and trained me in accounting. Mrs...Expand for more
. Hogan is my mentor and I love her and her family dearly - we still keep in touch. I married my first husband in 1985, had twin girls in 1987, was widowed in 1996. I married my second husband in 1999, moved to Nevada, and divorced in November of 2007. My girls attend UNR and are very happy individuals! They do well and I adore them! They are such a source of strength. I work for a chemical engineering company as the office manager - I do all the bookkeeping, ordering/tracking of chemicals, as well as all secretarial duties. It doesn't sound like much but I am kept quite busy all day and love it! I'm very happy here at PowerChem Technology and feel blessed to be here as they are a wonderful bunch of people who support me and the things I have had to deal with since I started in 2006. I lost both parents to cancer, my dad in 1993 and my mom in May of 2006. Thank you for your interest in me!
