Donna's Story

Born in Evanston, Illinois. It's right next to Chicago. Moved to NC in 1970. I've lived at several places in the Linden area and now live in my home at Lake Teresa-Linden right on the lake. I had a house built there in 1982. I've been here ever since and don't plan on living anywhere else. I'm a BIG Paul McCartney fan and have traveled to see him 4 times with my Husband David Wayne Jackson of Dunn, NC. I am also a Big Fan of k.d. lang. I have traveled to see her in concert 4 times also, going as far as Illinois. Check out her on u-tube singing "Hallelujah" written by Leonard Cohen. Click on the icon for 2005 version & the Canadian games. I love that song. (guess you can tell) I don't play on the computer much. It could be several days at a time before I might come & cut it on. We lived in a big OLD HOUSE in Evanston, IL. I had my own room! I remember going on the L-train to Wrigley Field to see Cubs games. Going to the Art Institute in Chicago & rideing by the PLAYBOY club skyscraper at night with it's lights at night after visiting my Aunt in IN. My sister & brothers would Laugh & Laugh!! I always wanted to be a Lyricist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a Dumb idea. As it turns out, they were...Expand for more
Right. I'd like to add that my Uncle Charles GAVE me a guitar for Christmas(2010). I start my music lessons tomorrow(1-31-11). I can't wait!! The picture you see is of me with my BEST FRIEND EVER, Joe Dan Rumley! Joe had to go in the hospital several years ago. Well they repaired one problem then came a touch of pnemonia, & adding to that a STAPH infection that killed him. Wayne & I went to Cape Fear Valley on a Sunday to see Joe, but when we looked in his room he was sleeping & we didn't want to disturb him. If I had known that was the last time I'd ever see him, I would have awakened him in a heartbeat. But that was the last time I was ever to see my Best Friend. I loved him so much. My husband understands. I remember Joe & I traveling to Washington, DC to meet a friend of mine. We only stayed 1 night at the Mayflower Hotel. Right in the middle of DC. The day that we left to come back to NC it was snowing & we went to the top of the Wash. Monument. We asked some people to take our picture & it turned out great. I wasn't married at this time. Joe was just walking with a cane at this time. I remember the day he told me that he was going to have to start using a wheelchair. That was so depressing. I hope I never get MS.
