Donna's Story
My daughter tells everyone that her mother hasn't figured out what she wants to be when she grows up. I'm not sure if that means I haven't grown up yet, or it's because I've done a little of everything. I never planned to be a "career woman", just do work that I can learn something from, enjoy a lot, and earn a living.
After sharing in my husband's work as a minister for 12 years, I am now checking out the hospitality industry. I am working full time as a Concierge at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas which is a 1600+ room hotel. I love helping people and I love giving them ideas on entertainment, dining and sight-seeing. I also have a part time job as an assistant to a music director in a church.
Before I came to the Anatole, I worked as a professional chauffeur for a limo company that handles mostly corporate clients. Being the "people person" that I am, I really enjoye...Expand for more
d it, so I still try to do it part-time. I have met an astronaut, a three star General, CEOs of multinational corporations and have also driven an Oscar nominated actress, a movie producer and a current Disney "Tween" queen singer.
I love music and since my husband sings with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Chorus, I love to attend symphony concerts when I can. My husband and I have been married 14 years. Since we both have jobs with crazy hours, we try to make the best of our limited time together.
One of my greatest blessings is my close relationship with my daughter Jill who is thirty and our favorite little boy, my grandson Alex who was born in 2003. They live about an hour away but we try to see each other as often as possible.
As I get older, I regret that I didn't spend more time with friends and family. I hope Classmates will help me catch up with some of them.
