Donna's Story
My pen name is Donna Del Oro and I just received the Silver Falchion Award of 2022 for my novel, SAVING LA FAMILIA! I am thrilled!
I'm a retired high school English teacher and now live in Granite Bay, CA. To keep from getting bored--and because I don't like golf THAT MUCH--I went back to my first passion, writing fiction. Since then, five years ago, I've sold and published two novels: OPERATION FAMILIA and HASTA LA VISTA, BABY. I'm currently working on my third and fourth ones and hope to sell to a NY publisher soon. 2016: I've sold nine novels and am revising my 10th, a romantic suspense novel. I write under the pen name, Donna Del Oro.

f fun together. My husband (who's a retired community college chemistry instructor) and I travel as much as we can and we are lucky enough so far to enjoy excellent health!
Granite Bay is east of Sacramento and near my daughter and her family. It's a central location, two hours from S.F., two hours from the wine country, two hours from Lake Tahoe. Ideal location but the summers are hot and dry. My ideal place to live would be the coast--at least in the summertime.
My son, Todd, is a biotech engineer in Silicon Valley, loves it there. He's unmarried but is in a longterm relationship. He has all the brains in our little family. My daughter, the best athlete in the family, is a high school teacher and volleyball coach.
Life is good and we are blessed.
