Donna's Story

Jan 2023: Oh boy, the last of 2022 was a disaster. My 2nd granddaughter, Jessica and her fiancé purchased a home in July and were looking forward to planning a wedding, when the unthinkable happened, Tyler was shot and killed outside of their home on December 10th. Investigation is ongoing. She's now had to list the home because she's unable to pay for it on her own. Shook our family. She's handling it well and hopefully can move on. On a brighter note the Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl Just received notification that we are going to have a 50th reunion this summer, looking forward to that. Hope anyone that reads this is doing well. Thanks for visiting. Sept 2022: Well's it's almost time to turn a year older, not sure how I feel about that, but it's better than the alternative. Dusty had her baby Aug 16th, named him Maverick. The kids have all been back in school for a month and doing well. Baby Braxtyn is walking all over the place and talking up a storm, well more like gibberish, but she is definitely vocal. Addison is a senior and depending on the day it's great or it sucks. Madison is in her last year of middle school. She did great at the county fair; 1st place in photography, her pictures went to the Missouri State Fair, that was exciting. She got a "show" ribbon" for her cow Reba because there wasn't anyone to show against in that class. Hayleigh got a promotion to Airman 1st class, finished classes and is now certified in tactical aircraft maintenance. She got married on Sept 17 to a great guy, Jeremia, and they are really excited to begin their life together. As for me I just finished helping my best friend clean out her cousins' home (6 months) and it has now sold. I made a quick trip to see my sister in Alma, Ks this past weekend. We did the "Fabulous Finds on I-99", not so much, but did have a great visit. Now it's time to get back to my yard and get ready for cold weather. Hope everyone had a great summer and GO CHEIFS!! June 2022: Can't believe that half the year is already gone. My grandchildren are so much fun. My sons' kids: 2 oldest, Chrys, 25 & Jessie, 23, have purchased their own homes something I didn't achieve till I was 40! Their younger sister, Dusty, 22, is adding to the population again, 3rd son is due to arrive in August to big brothers Kyle, 4 and Kamden, 2. He also has 3 sons' Hunter, 11, just finished 1st year at middle school, Jason, 6, looking forward to 1st grade and 16-month-old Logan, is spoiled little brother. My daughters' girls: Hayleigh (21) finished training at Shepperd AFS (won the knuckle-buster award in her graduating class) and is now in Tucson, Crew chief, Airman 3rd class, loves working on the Warthogs and has already been t...Expand for more
old she would make a wonderful instructor in a few years. So proud of them! Addison, 17 & Madison, 13 are in FFA and are showing COWS at county fairs and having a great time doing it. Currently Maddi is in Corpus Christi swimming in the ocean. And my youngest granddaughter, Braxtyn just turned 1! Funniest baby ever. My great granddaughter, Adalynn, 6, just graduated from kindergarten and her younger brother, Wade, 3, can't wait to start head-start in the fall. Everyone is doing well. Jan 2022: Well just got back from a wonderful week in San Antonio. My granddaughter graduated from basic training at JBSA Lackland Air Force Base. It was awesome watching the airman run and then the parade of all the graduates lining up to take their oath and receive their airman coin. She was a flag carrier and did a wonderful job (they all did). So proud of you Airman Hayleigh Williams-Loyd. She has now been sent to Shepperd AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. for tech school. While in San Antonio we visited Sea Life and Legoland. Drove to Garden Ridge, Tx, to drive thru the Wilderness Trails National preserve, so cool. Fed the animals out of the car and even had a few ostriches stick their heads in the car to get to the food. Spent lots of money but the trip was wonderful. Sept. 2021: Getting ready to turn 66 years old. How the hell did that happen? 2021 started out great (Biden won!!!) until the insurrection on Jan 6th. A new grandbaby as of May 21st, she's doing good. Didn't go anywhere this summer because of Covid-19 and people unwilling to vaccinate. So now were in the fall and pretty soon the leaves will start changing and everything will look pretty for a while. I love this time of year. For those that visit here, thanks for checking in. GO CHIEFS!! Stay safe, get vaccinated and wear your mask. Well, 2020 pretty much sucked (til Nov, when we got rid of the orange clown). My son had a new baby boy in December. So now I have 4 great grandkids older than my own grandkids, and my daughter is to deliver and baby girl in May. Guess 2020 was good for something. Did a lot of artwork during the year, have boxes of it waiting for craft shows to start again, hopefully this fall. I'm gotten my vaccinations for Covid-19. Lost 11 friends, and several others, including family members, that had this awful disease. I hope everyone is wearing their mask and doing social distancing for your safety as well as those around you. Family info: I have 2 adult children, May 2021 now have 7 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 3 great grandsons. Retired in 2016 from City of Independence P&L, LOVE IT!! Do a lot of yard work and gardening (flowers). Spend as much time as I can with grandkids
