Donna's Story
After spending time following my husband(now ex), around Mass and to Utah for his job--I am totally settled in Western Mass. I spent 10 years living in the "past"--I was a costumed interpretor at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge MA--one of the largest living history museums in the country. There I did various chores/skills/and researched the 19th century--was a great place for a historian and 'crafty' person. When I got laid off from there, I began teaching--history of course, since I had gotten my Masters in Education while at OSV. I am now teaching GED prep for Social Studies and Science (hey, 30 years of following around a natural history educator, ya gotta learn something!) at Westover Job Corps in Chicopee MA--and I am enjoyi...Expand for more
ng myself!! I am also a "Civil War cook for hire"!! I and two other friends, are part of a historical educational group known as Hearthfelt. We teach about 19th century life, as well as do cooking classes (fireplace or firepit), teach about life/society of 19th century and do Civil War era cooking for various encampments. I still love to sew, knit, and crochet--but have discovered and love Bollywood movies! A friend of my son introduced me to movies of India(the largest movie producing area in the world) and I have enjoyed watching them, studying them and all in all trying to spread the enjoyment!! I live out in the woods with my son and we have 3 crazy cats!! a house full of books and movies and lots of birds for the cats to enjoy!!
