Donna's Story
I am a Nurse and a college professor teaching students to become Registered Nurses.
My children are:
Rachel (nurse) married to Jimmie (Chemist) they have my only grandaughter Ella.
Sara and Rebecca are identical twins.
Sara (photographer) married to Teddy (policeman)
Rebecca (student - Veterinary Medicine) married to Craig (Medical Student)
I am married (29 years) to a Rheumatology Physician (taking care of people with arthritis) whom I met at Southern Nazarene University.
I have lived in Bethany Oklahoma and Norman Oklahoma since leaving High School in Arkansas.
Our family likes to snow ski, hike and be outdoors. Our favorite activity as a family is music, usually Jazz. We love to travel and spend as much time as possible together.
In my spare time I make porcelain dolls and watch old movies and Forensic t.v. I have several favorite ways to relax. I like to swim with my grandaughter or nieces and nephews and I like to make porcelain dolls or sew. I have several ribbons from taking my dolls to national contests.
My oldest friend in Jr High and High School was Vicki. She liked all the same things I did. She was fun to be around and had a great smile and a great laugh. We laughed often. Vicki is one person I would really lik...Expand for more
e to see again.
I hope my friends remember me as someone who was serious about my studies, but had a good time in life. The wildest thing I ever did in school was at Southern Nazarene College when I helped two friends steal all of the silverware from the cafeteria. Everyone had to eat with their hands for an entire weekend until the boys brought the silverware back.
Campus life brought out my mischevious side, but taught me that I was a lot smarter than I gave myself credit for.
I always wanted to be a lawyer/federal judge when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
Life doesn't always turn out like you expect. For me the biggest surprise has been how incredibly lucky I have been to have had a wonderful spouse and children that have given me very little trouble along and way. They and their spouses are some of my dearest friends to this day.
If I had anything to do over again in life, I don't think I would take a different path. Medical school, nursing school, and three small children were hard to juggle, but I still don't think I would do it any other way. In 10 years, I hope to be able to retire and move to our dream house in Colorado where we can ski as much as we want.
