Donna's Story

We love you Jacob Michael Silver and we are all going to miss you terribly! Catch me on Facebook! that's where I'm catching up with old friends and family! Ask me about a great new business opportunity! After cleaning and cooking a turkey that weighs more than my grandson and doing a careful inspection of all areas, I can honestly say I would make a top notch TSA employee; nothing got into that roasting pan that shouldn't have been there but the stuffing and all poultry cavities were clean as a whistle. The travel bug bit me and I really want to travel. I like travelling; don't mind flying and driving is ok, too. And I have enough skymiles I could probably go somewhere for a month. I don't even mind going to the same place twice because then you know your way around when you go back. it must run in the family because my cousins have retired, sold their house, bought an RV and are travelling all over; they stopped in Cincinnati on their way back from out West, which is my favorite area and were headed up the East Coast for fall and then down to their daughter's house in Atlanta. They'll most likely winter in Florida; they're towing a small car to run around in, hiking and having the time of their life; _________________________________________________________________ A true friend is someone you can call at 3AM and won't be mad at you but will just listen; thanks to my true friends; and yes, I'm tired when you call me at 3AM but that's what friends are for; **************************************************************** Haven't had time to rake all the leaves; the kids are on their way to Disney so I am babysitting the dog; she is not real happy about them being gone but I think she'll survive with me for a week; I've already given her chicken and scrambled eggs and gone for a long walk; she may not want to go back home; *************************** It's a girl; the kids told me that the next grandbaby is a little sister; yay! 3 girls; what are the odds? She's due to come into the world in March; big sister wants to name her Hot Dog; .................................. Halloween is my most not favorite holiday; don't like ghouls, goblins, chainsaw massacres,etc. And if you are like me and want to pass out at the site of blood, skip watching Repo Men with Jude Law. I thot it was going to be a crime drama; nothing like it; the main characters go out and repossess organs that have been transplanted like hearts and livers from people who can no longer make the payments. You have never seen so much blood and gore in your life. It's disgusting. I thot I could handle it, but it made me want to barf; and talk about violence; this can compete with any video game including the carnage. It reminded me of watching the Deerhunter and watching that guy blow his brains out or a scene from the Civil War where all the soldiers are lying there in the army hospital with limbs blown off or even Scarface. Thumbs down on this one; 10/4/10 *********************** It is finally getting to be fall and time to decompress, go to the mountains where there are no phones and no computers and check out the leaves. If I can get away from it all; But I love people and I've met some of my favorite ones at networking. Going to the Reds game, first the Brewers, then the Diamondbacks; was so like being a kid again. The extra tickets got sold and exchanged for beer money. You have to have beer to wash down the all you can eat hotdogs. Be careful that they don't come back to bite you. The most incredible thing was seeing Mr. Herbert at the class reunion. My old softball coach. Unfortunately, my softball career has not gone well. The church team doesn't like people who cuss when the other team hits the ball over your head. A great time was had by everyone at the 40th class reunion of the Class of 70 in Deer Park OH on Saturday September 11; it was fun to reconnect with former classmates. And many thanks to the organizers who did all the heavy lifting. Photos will soon be available. The worst part about 9/11 for me is always reliving it; I always find myself watching the videotapes of the planes hitting the towers; I still think about it all the time. I remember walking around the bottom of the towers just a day before and then they were gone; I probably have one of the last photos of the towers. Flight 93 was at the next gate. My plane landed safely; theirs didn't. I must still be here for a reason so what is my universal assignment. 9-17-10 The latest must read is "Release your Brilliance" by Simon T. Bailey which is a must read for professional and personal development. Surprise; surprise; everytime I go out of town, I come home and the kids surprise me with some life changing event a...Expand for more
nd guess what it is this time; another new grandbaby; so now I will have four; maybe I will actually be here to welcome this one into the world; 07-13-10 I am so proud of my cousin, Ron, who completed the Ride the Rockies event while I was in Colorado Springs at the Women's Leadership Academy; its a huge mountain bike event; they even have their own website; you can google it; we celebrated afterwards by hiking up Red Canyon near Wyoming with his daughter Charlotte and attended Romeo and Juliet at the community college with his wife, Paula. I click so well with them. We all have the same interests. And you should see their awesome garden of homegrown vegetables. You don't even need air conditioning there. What a great trip.Too bad all good things have to come to an end. Oh, well; I'm sick of flying on airplanes for a while anyhow. 06-29-10 This is the best training ever; what a better place to spend leadership training than 8000 ft out of colorado springs; the outdoor team building was areal challenge especially at this altitude where the oxygen is thin but this place is like the garden of eden; this is the best thing ive ever done for myself and ieven get to spend my birthday with special friends and family; it was hotter than hades in dc last week and of course the airline lost my clothes but who cares in aplace like this. and the best part is yet to come; pikes peak is right outside my window 06-21-10 Work, work, work; fun and more fun; it was great to see an old school chum today; it finally quit raining so its time to go outside and play; the flowers smell great; 05-25-10 What is all this about Lindsay Lohan who is falling down all over herself; she's a pretty girl but just can't seem to get her act together; and doesn't look too pretty when she's hungover or high as a kite; can't we have news about somebody who is doing something useful instead; one of my friends just moved back home from out of state and boy was I glad since on a scale of 1-10, he's a 12; but he really surprised me when he told me that he wanted me to meet his wife; oh, brother; all the good ones are taken; is it ever going to stop raining or are we going to have another one of those rainy summers; time to go to the movies and relax; I'll give you my critique on Robin Hood or something else; Avatar was pretty good; finally watched that and looking for a good read if anyone has a recommendation. There's a lot to do so I best get in gear. When I get back from DC, I have to pack my other bag and head out to the Super Conference in Colorado Springs and I can't wait to go because I'm tacking on a couple of r&r days and going hiking in the Rocky mountains. Been there before and thankfully I have a new camera so it will be great.05-21-10 Ok; just read Chelsea,Chelsea Bang Bang and she is absolutely hilarious on Chelsea Lately; too funny; also, catch Pamela and Chad on Dancing with the Stars; I love Dancing with the Stars; I also read John Grisham's Ford County; excellent read; Grisham at his best; don't forget to watch the Unit; it gets better all of the time but also get outside and hike and walk cuz the weather is getting better all the time; Spring is finally here; it was a lousy winter with nothing to do but read and watch tv and the snow pile up; leaving for Houston; I love Texas and all those cowboys down there; and good grief; I love Clapton and the Eagles but listen to Susan Boyle her first CD is phenomenal; I listen to it in my car; that woman has an incredible voice; I wish I could sing like that; 04-06-10 I just read the Lost Symbol by Dan Brown and I recommend the Last Lecture and Water for Elephants; The last movie I saw was Inglorious Basterds and the Princess and the Frog with my granddaughters and love the new FX series the Sons of Anarchy along with Nip/Tuck although I have never gotten a nip/tuck; I have 2 adult children and 3 grandkids; My job is not 9-5 My brother Doug is in FL; Susan in CA; Donnie is here with me. Our mother passed away in 92 and our dad turned 81. He is in good health. I am a distributor for Bazi; it keeps me well and young. Email me for my website address to order Bazi. I always wanted to be a race car driver; I love hiking and listening to music and I am an amatuer photographer. I am planning a trip to Colorado next year. My favorite way to relax is coloring books with the kids or play doh or actually getting dirty in the sandbox as long as they dont' dump water in there. Then its yucky and you need to take a bath; those younguns sure do grow up quick; my oldest granddaughter was the line leader at preschool and boy was she proud of that the other day and how many 2 year olds know their abc's already and 18 mos old who can put puzzles together;
