Donna's Story
HI! I'd love to find out where you are and what's important to you in life right now.
Since high school, I attended George Mason University (except for Junior year, when I went to U of Hawaii-a great experience!) I graduated from GMU with a degree in Elem. Education and as part of the state champion volleyball team!
After college, I began working for Fairfax County Public schools, where I taught for 13 years. At 24, I met my husband Mark MacGowan. Though I hadn't known him, I had been in Bible studies and fellowships with every member of his family, and he had been at Oakton during the 2nd shift after the tornado in our senior year.
We got married in 1981, went to work at a boy's home in Georgia, and then...Expand for more
came back to the DC area. I worked with FCPS again, and Mark became a youth pastor.
In 1991, we moved to Colorado for some training with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and have been here ever since. We train young people in exploring their Christian faith so it is not just what their church or family believes, but their own relationship with God. We also provide opportunities for them to share their faith around the world.
Life stays exciting. Since 2005, we have lived in Afghanistan, the Gulf Coast, California and South Africa with time in our Colorado log cabin, as well. Since 2017, we've been living and working with YWAM in Townsville, AUSTRALIA. We love what we do, and feel like we are living our destiny!
