Donna's Story
I certainly wasn't a part of the popular crowd, but I remember having a lot of friends. I moved away from California 2 years after graduating and didn't keep in contact with anyone. Therefore, I don't remember a lot of my friends (unfortunately), much less a lot of my classmates. So.....I think I have a disadvantage; can you give me some kind of handicap? :)
I really didn't want to be anything but a wife and mother when I was growing up. We weren't a family that talked about college at all. However, even without a college degree, I managed to retired from UPS management with 21 years service.
My favorite way to relax is with my husband, a glass of wine in my hand, my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels at our feet.
What's the wildest thing I did in school? I don't think there was anything; I was pretty bland.
I have been living in Salt Lake City, UT (no, I'm not Mormon) for the past 35 years, give or take a couple of years. I've been divorced 3 times, so I moved back to Calif twice, but it just never worked out there. The reason I moved is because I married a sailor from Utah.
I finally have my dream home. I live in Southern Utah now where there is only about 2 months of winter (YEA! I hate winter!), I have a pool finally. That's been...Expand for more
tough as I grew up with a pool. So, my house is 4200 sq. ft. and I have a casita (guest space), a big kitchen connected to the living/family room. I love it!
I have 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and my husband of 4 years has 2 sons. One of my 5 grandchildren passed away when she was 4 years old (8 years ago) from pneumonia. I am the happiest right now that I have been in my entire life. But I can't believe I have a 15 YEAR OLD GRANDSON!
My first crush was John Wayne Bibb who lived a couple of streets behind me. We were in 5th grade. I'm not sure what happened to him. I can't even remember if he went to the same high school as I did.
My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, eccentric; but people who don't know me would describe me as quiet and reserved. :)
I love to dress in skirt, a T-shirt and flip flops. If it's not a skirt, then it's capris. I refuse to dress like a grandma. When I was younger, my biggest fear was for someone to think I dressed like a mom. So I wore halter tops, SHORT shorts, jeans, t-shirts, etc. That was, of course, when I wasn't at work.
My one do-over would be to find my current husband when I was in my 20s. That's a toss up with having gone to college, living in a dorm, experiencing life just as "me".
