Donna's Story
Well, where do I start! I married my high school Sweetheart(Terry Stanton) in 1973 (he graduated Bloom High School, Chicago Heights, IL 1971) We bought a house in Steger,IL and have been here since. We had a son and daughter after 4 years of marriage. We made it through life's ups and downs and the kids grew up to be successful and have given us 5 wonderful grandchildren. Terry worked at Federal Signal and I have worked for Steger School Dist. 194 for the past 30 years in the office. Terry and I were enjoying our empty nest and time together. But June 2010 he was taken from me by a heart attack that took him while he was sleeping. My life as I knew it for 40 years had changed. I have adjusted these past 3 years one day at a time. e so my grandkids keep me busy and for that I am grateful. I had also lost my dad in 2006 to lung cancer. I am still fortunate to have my mom close here too. She turned 85 this July 2013. I enjoy scrapbooking my grandkids, taking care of my house, babysitting and having sleep overs with my grandkids. They fill my house with laughter and that is the best medicine. My grandkids are Katelyn 11 years, Autumn 7, Megan almost 2 (my daughter has the girls) Mitchel 7, Dominic almost 4 ( my son has the boys) I also enjoy my job at the school with all the kids there. I have seen kids like mine that have went thru the school and now have their kids coming there.....like my grandkids. I have been blessed with the years with Terry and now I enjoy my time with my grandkids.
