Donna's Story

Life doesn't always work out the way you planned as I firmly believed I would remain in Minot all of my life. Going against my plan, in the late 80's I relocated to the Phoenix area which was quite a culture shock from the home town atmosphere of Minot (I still miss it). I have been working in the banking / financial industry for 12 years. Currently, I am working for Mutual of Omaha Bank and managing a Operations Department within the HOA Division. My favorite way to relax is to enjoy my 4 grandchildren, or do anything outdoors, particularily hiking. Hiking is very popular here and there are plenty of trails to choose from in almost every direction. The culture in a metropolitain area is abundant. I enjoy the art museums, theater productions; musicals, concerts etc. Don't let them tell you it ...Expand for more
is a dry heat here, it gets miserable around June and July when the Monsoons roll in. I am still trying to decide what is worse, 30 below windchill or 115 degree heat...talk about extremes. Christmas in Arizona is quite different than in ND. It took me awhile to adjust, however, I have become accustomed to not having snow. The most unusual sight was seeing Christmas lights draped around a Saguaro cactus! Hopefully I will hear from some of my former classmates; I would love to receive a communication from you. I was seriously planning on attending the reunion but it looks like I won't be able to make it. Hard to believe it has been 40 years since we graduated. I used to look at people our age and think they were old...and that it would be a long time before I would be there...well, here I am!!!
