Dora's Story

Well now... hope there will be a lot of classmates attending the reunion this year. I expect that a few have passed on but it will be lovely to touch base with those brave souls who will come along for the fun. So often I hear that they are afraid, they don't look good, they are too fat.... EGADs!...we are in our 60s. Don't deprive us of yourself. Join in the evening. I am afraid too but will put my best foot forward and hope you will be glad to see me again. I am so looking forward to this. Sorry - enough on the sales pitch! I always loved school and have passed that love onto my children (4) and grandchildren (15). As for the daughters, their skills didn't drift too far from their mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers... they do math in some form... acountants, a computer geek and an EMT. Amungst the Grands...there is even one teacher (granddaughter) and two electricians, so far. Of course the grand's are in various stages of schooling...grade (youngest is 9), in college or graduated (elde...Expand for more
st grand turned 25 this year and is the teacher). The fourth Great Grand is on the way! And, since I believe that our job is never done, being a Grandma and Great Grandma is really important. Use your place in this world to your children's advantage. Step up to the plate and be the encourager that you always needed. I am not the best cheerleader... but I work on it every day. As a widow, I am finding my way. My divorced sister says that it takes about 6 years to adjust/get your feet back under you. I laugh and hope she's right because that means I am 1/2 way through this inevitable experience. I say cherish each phase and learn what you are suppose to - quickly! I believe that life is good for all of us in the USA no matter what phase of life you are in. We have more than any other country but we are so unthankful. I work daily to be that cheerful, thankful person that I think we all have the ability to be! Well, that's my philosophy! Take it or leave it. Keep smiling! God Loves You! Dora
