Doreen's Story
Life
Raised 2 children, Chad and Dawn, on my own. My ex wasn't a very good father, to say the least. Worked several jobs at one time, donated plasma twice a week, and took a couple of college courses, to make ends meet - until 1991 when I ran into Kim Brecheen (Henagan) who was doing romance enhancement parties for women only. Kim enlightened me to the opportunity and potential to make full time money on part time work. Talk about help me out of a bind! I still work full time at Tulane University School of Medicine as a Senior Program Coordinator, but I also still do in-home romance enhancement parties called, Slumber Parties, for the last 20 years. putting some away for retirement. My son, Chad, is now 35 and my daughter, Dawn is now 30 and both out of the house. Just when I thought that for the first time in my life, I'll be able to live all by myself, Katrina comes along and destroys everyone's life. My dad passed away in May, 2010 and I miss him terribly. I'M still in Chalmette and I love it. I guess I'm just one of those people where you can take me out of the parish, but you can't take the parish out of me. I enjoy being close to the bayous where I can take my little 17' flatboat out and just putt-putt around the marshes fishing. I love piddling around in my yard and gardens, fishing, camping, playing darts, and hanging out with friends.
