Doris's Story
The question is, who am I now? I can thankfully say I have come a very long way from those "smoky daze" in high school. We moved a lot, but we managed to live in one place for 2 years while I attended Wilcox 71-72. Unfortunately I can only remember a few classmates and I am fortunate to have kept in contact with one person {Kathy} from school and my old neighborhood in Santa Clara. She has always and will be a very dear friend to me.
What have I been up to for the last 35 years? After high school I moved to Fullerton CA. At 21 I married and had a son a few years later. At 26 the marriage was over. My son and I left CA for a short visit to the midwest. We ended up staying and starting over. I remarried a couple years later and my husband adopted my son.
The town we live in is only a population of 900 people, 2 stop signs, and a very small school. There were...Expand for more
only 14 in my son's high school class of 96. My son graduates from WSU May 09. He has a beautiful wife, and two children. It's fun being Grandparents and a joy as well!
My husband and I helped start a family business over 20 years ago with his mom, dad, and brother. We're still working the business, his dad is retired.
For about 2 years I also worked with disabled people as well as working the family business. I can honestly say I enjoyed working with people with disabilities, it was a good eye opening experience for me.
For about 23 years my husband and I have attended a little church in the country. I also have a puppet {muppet} ministry for children, which I've been doing for about 10 years.
That's it... That's what I've been up to all these years. Happily ever after... I love my country roots, but I still enjoy my blues and rock & roll.
