Doris's Story

"Yoohoo!...Where is Everyone At?" I find that "Classmates" does not make this fun at all to find someone!!!This should be made up as a BOOK! How many agree with me??? I hope so! I tried so hard to contact those that I really would like to hear from again, but "Classmates" makes it too lengthy of a task...leaving me longing. So, I will tell you some about myself... But first I want to say that both of my sisters: Gloria and MaryJane passed away in 1999. In case you knew them. This is kind of like talking into an Answering Machine..."Yoohoo! Maybe I can't see you, but I know that you are out there!" I can still hear all of us school kids coming together and singing our school song..."Hail Noble Washington!" -How tears often came to my eyes with patriotism. Guess what else? I can still remember each of you who shared in our Kindergarten class, as I see your faces come to me...and the precious memory of Miss Fuhrmark <3 who was so gentle and Loving. Even in First grade with(mean as hell)Miss Widener(Later,as Mrs.Catchum)...who distorted my whole concept of: school was for learning, not a concept of a daily prison with a Warden always standing over me...and comparing me to my elder, studious sister, Mary Jane, whom I adored...but I was not meant to be her clone! I adored MJ for our differences as I looked up to her. Matter of fact, it's our differences that made our lives so awesomely unique.Thank God for that! I really tried to even play the Violin too because our mom said I should, but no one ever taught mewhy my bow should be going up instead of down, and I never could get the hang of that!Just Not for me! But as some may know MaryJane was considered professional in time. But I became good at what was right for(me)I do enjoy working with numbers, and become CFO in our business. Also, I have the Hastings family talent as an Artist, drawing Portraits.I even took a school-pho...Expand for more
to of my daughter when she was about 14; with her lovely blonde curls cascating down her shoulders, and her perfect smile...but she blinked when the photographer snapped it...so her eyes were almost shut. Disappointed! After many years of coming across that picture,I decided to surprise her and I drew that same picture with her beautiful blue eyes looking at me and capturing her loving smile. Miss Juanita King was a good ART teacher! -Was that Washington Elementary perhaps? Because I recall Richard Pluskes sat next to me. I also remember he was dating Janis Aldrin, later on. I Love Painting and I get so excited with COLORS!! How White make color stand out and how Black adds a spark of Drama!Red-Orange is Calliante!! In conclusion, I miss all you wonderful people that I saw on a day to day basis! It was a Luxury, but we never knew it...we were kids back then!! Today is a whole New World! Many of us have grown kids,grand-kids, and great-grandchildren by now! I had FUN in Life! Everything came easy for me...Except: I learn so much better out of school. I even found GOD outside the church...in my heart <3 Interior Decorating is exciting for me!I light-up with "Nutrition" and I am still looking forward to an Exciting New Beginning! And I would enjoy sharing with you guys and gals! I have a lot of FREE moments now to reminisce! Mr.Freiberger taught English so well!! Don't you remember that it is incorrect to begin a sentence with the word: And)? And we are not suppose to end a sentence with the word: at)Like in: Where is everyone at? -Oh well, I never was perfect!! I sure would like to hear from you! "East Chicago Washington"I learned a lot in my 10 years of study.I married early and it agrees with me <3 It's so nice to have my man around the house and my kids are older than Iam!!! giggle/giggle -Love you, From Doris(Hastings)Head. Thank You Lord for my wonderful life...<3...<3
