Dorothy's Story
Life
After high school I attended and ultimately graduated from the University of Louisville. I say ultimately because college was interrupted by marriage and a move to Europe. I lived in Germany for a year in 1970/71 and my son, Tony, was born while we were overseas. After I returned to Louisville I switched my major from music to history, graduated and went on to attend graduate school at U of L. In 1974, after trying my hand at teaching (briefly) I started working for Kentucky state government and within a short period of time I moved into the field of law enforcement. I am an agent with KBI (Kentucky Bureau of Investigations, formerly known as the Office of Atto...Expand for more
rney General/SID). On a personal note, I divorced in 1979 and remarried. My husband, Doug, is retired from law enforcement. My son, Tony, is married and I have a brand new granddaughter named Audrey who was born this past July. I also have 2 cats, Lenoir and Biscuithead. Presently I am seriously considering retirement in 2005.
August 2010 - Update: I retired August 2005, kept my off-duty job for another year, and then gave that up,too. Retirement got boring so I went to work with the Census Bureau in 2009 supervising field operations crews for the decennial census. My granddaughter is now 6 years old and in the first grade.
