Dorothy's Story
Life
I am still married and loving life with the entire family even though they are growing up and moving on. My oldest daughter Kym is now 27. She has one little boy who just turned 3 in December. He is my heart! My oldest son is 25 and is now married to his high school sweetheart . They just had their first baby (a little boy) in September. My 15 and 12 year old of course are with me and my husband, Jim. It is wonderful to have all four of my children and one of my step-son's (26yrs old) right here in the same town.
Workplace
I am still Detective and work people crimes in Sparks NV. I do most of our Forensic Interviews on children that have been sexually and/or physically abused and adults with mental delays and/o...Expand for more
r handicaps. I was fortunate enough to be one of the people that help develop and open the Child Advocacy Center here which allows our adult and child victims a safe place to be interviewed, start their counseling, and receive a medical exam all in one place the same day most of the time. It means the world to me to be able to allow a young child to disclose such horrific things that may have happend to them and know that it is the first step toward their recovery.
My husband retired as a Lieutenant with the Nevada Highway Patrol in March of 2015 and went right back to work. Being a house husband was probably, ok is the one thing he is horrible at. He is a freight broker here in Reno .
All in all, I am very blessed!
