Doug's Story
Life
Currently living in Miami Beach. I moved down here to attend grad school at the Univ. of Miami in 2003 and have been down here ever since. Still unmarried but with a longtime girlfriend (three years is a long time for me) who is a PhD student in English at Univ. of Miami.
I love music, cinema and literature (as I did in high school and college). I also love the beach, especially running on the beach every morning, and just generally livin' in a sunny climate. Miami is kind of on the seedy and decadent side but seedy and decadent can be amusing/ entertaining. Its also culturally diverse (if not particularly deep). I attended the Latin Grammys last year. Go Shakira!

but I do think of Visalia and Redwood and the old crew often and hope to see them all at next reunion which hopefully will be this (2007) year. Hard to believe that I haven't made that walk between the main campus and Sierra Vista; or been in the old Redwood pool for morning and afternoon workouts; or grabbed a box of Junior Mints from the Ranger Lookout; or lunched on the grass; or survived another hour of Mr. Condon's civics class; or skipped 5th period trig for almost 25 years. (I had a record 19 absences in that class, a record which I think still holds.)
Very much hoping to see some of you at the 25th reunion.
