Doug's Story

Over the last 20+ years I have seen lots of things and been through lots of hells. After losing my step dad a month before leaving El Camino I had to become the man of the house to help pay the bills and get the family on the right track. With my 2 sisters living on the East coast and my brother being older it was up to me to help my mom out. In 1994 I lost my Bio Dad. In 1998 I was going to lose my job due to a move from Elk Grove, CA to New Jersey so I started looking for a new one and discovered I had no skills. So I quit work and went to College at Heald. I got a double degree in Business and Computers. After graduation I worked with Foster kids from an Agency. In 2003 I met the most wonderful person in the world. I saw her from across the room and could not beleive my eyes. When she started walking toward me I only hoped she would talked to me. When she said hello my first question was "Are you Asian?" I could not beleive I said that. Thank god she was. Over the course of several months she showed me so many things from fine dining to great taste in shopping. Then in 2005 I did the worst thing ever. I lied to her, and her family because I thought I was going to lose her if I told her the truth. I lost her when she found out the truth. I then tried to commit suicide by eating. The more I ate the better chance I would have to have a heart attack and die....Expand for more
So much for that I got fat. later in 2003 I lost my job at the foster care agency and looked for a new job until finding one in 2005 when I was working for a home building company. They went out of business 2 months later. I was out walking one day when I got numb on my right side and could not feel anything. Since then I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor, eye tumor, lung tumor and heart problems. I am pleased to say that later in 2006 my friend and I worked out our difference and she has forgiven me however things are not the same. Her family knows we talk but have not totally accepted me back yet and my family has not accepted her back at all so we have to hide our friendship. I will say since getting back together with her our relationship is stronger. She is my life partner and my best friend. The love we have for each other could never be duplicated by any other person in our lives. I fight everyday to get better so that I can provide a better life for her. If I say I have loved before I can honestly say I have never loved anyone like Christy in my life. In my opinion I can do no better and will never look for anyone else because I love her to death and I always will. She makes me the most happiest man ever and I feel so special when I am with her or just talking to her over the phone. She is my rock. She is my BEST friend. She is my Life Partner.
