Doug's Story
Life
Well I think trying to sum up 22 years in 2000 characters or less is a bit goofy, so let me just pass on that I hope you are doing well and are happy Tina B, Deana, Kelly, Krista, Mary, Ross, Leanne, Greg, Eric, Keith, Joel, Doug, Bobby, and especially Kevin & Keith.
School
I have very, very good memories of school. I was such a dork in Macgowan that it was very gratifying to come out of my shell and play football and run track for 4 years. I guess my only regrets are that I probably didn't work nearly as hard as I could have. I finished high in the class as far as GPA, but I know I could have been higher. I did ok in sports, but I know I could have done better. I have a lot more determination now as an adult, but then again I am sure we all do.
I do have to say my very fondest memories of HS were our Sunday football games. I walk by the old field at Claude all the time, and not once can I do so without getting a big smile on my face. So thank you Bob, Greg, Eric, Joel, Keith, Doug, and Bryan for memories I will cherish forever.
Oh yeah, on...Expand for more
e more regret.... I should have gotten up the nerve to ask you out Kim Warmen!
College
I went to U-M Dearborn for two years because that is what was expected of me, but I left as a junior because I absolutely hated it. The entire college experience was a huge joke to me. I understand taking a variety of courses in high school because the teenage mind needs to be exposed to many things, but I COULD NOT accept PAYING the school and being forced to take Linguistics and Sociolgy when all I wanted to do was get my degree in Math. Ridiculous!!
I walked away and sincerely have no regrets.
Workplace
I always wanted a job where I worked with numbers, so here I am! I work for a security hardware distributor in Livonia (we supply all the locksmiths and alarm companies), and I buy for all 10 of our branches from here to Hartford, Ct. We sold 25 million dollars last year, so that means I get to spend A LOT of the company's money!
I have to thank Mr. Chervekowsky for getting me so interested in math and computers because that is what my job is all about.
